Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national football team and player for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, dined at the White House on Tuesday with US President Donald Trump as part of the delegation accompanying Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his visit to the United States.

During a welcoming speech at the dinner, Trump highlighted the presence of the Portuguese superstar and said that his son, Barron, was “thrilled” to meet Cristiano Ronaldo in person, adding ironically: “He’s a big fan. I think he respects me more now, for introducing him here.”
Ronaldo, accompanied by his wife, Georgina RodrÃguez, was not invited to speak, but was seated in the front row of the table in the East Room of the White House.

President Trump welcomed the guests, describing the Crown Prince as “a true partner for peace and prosperity” in the world and for peace in the Middle East.
The dinner was delayed because the red carpet laid outside the hall had to be covered by a tent due to heavy rain in Washington D.C.
In addition to Cristiano Ronaldo, Trump also received Elon Musk, marking the tech magnate’s return to the White House after the Republican president’s absence.
